Mr. Potential Donor

Dear Mr. Donor:
Since our last meeting on the golf course (when I drove the golf cart into the pond), I have decided to try a different sport…bicycling! In fact, on September 24 – 25, 2005, I will be joining over 2,000 other cyclists on a 150-mile ride to the beach to raise money for the National MS Society and its mission to end the devastating effects of MS.
Multiple sclerosis (MS) is a chronic, potentially disabling disease of the central nervous system. Its symptoms come and go without any pattern or warning and range from fatigue, difficulty walking and double vision to paralysis and blindness.
My goal is to raise {FUNDRAISING GOAL} and you can help by contributing to my effort! Your donation is tax deductible and you will receive an official acknowledgement from the National MS Society if your gift is $250 or more. If you wish, you may mail me all or a portion of your contribution today in the self-addressed, stamped envelope I’ve enclosed with this letter. Please make your check payable to the National MS Society. Or use you credit card and e-pledge me at www.nationalmssociety.org/ncp.
Feel free to contact me with any questions about the MS 150 Bike Tour or to make your contribution over the phone. I appreciate your support and look forward to telling you how I did!
Sincerely,
John Q. Cyclist
